Want to get unlimited talk, texting and data on Straight Talk or Net 10 for $45 a month?
You can keep your existing phone and take it to Straight Talk or Net 10 to get great service at a great price. You’ll still use the towers of AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint, but you’ll pay Straight Talk instead of your current carrier (even though you’re still using their towers).
Below we will tell you which phones you can use and which plans you can pick from.
Be sure to read the details, as just being on the list below is not good enough – your phone must also be unlocked or locked to postpaid Verizon, AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile.
Also, if your phone is not on the list below it may still work if it is unlocked or locked to postpaid Verizon, AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile. This is not an exhaustive list of all phones that work.
If you are unsure, ask us in the comment section below!

Buying a New or Used Phone for Straight Talk SIM Bring Your Own Phone
If you are looking to get a phone for use with Straight Talk’s Bring Your Own Phone program, here’s what I would recommend:

However – you may also be able to save some money by buying a used, locked phone from Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile or Sprint. Only buy a locked phone on these carriers, any other locked phone will not work!

Please help me understand.u say that Verizon and sprint r not GSM and cannot b used with straight talk. So how come on ur list of phones that do work u list iPhone 4s Verizon and sprint. I want a 4s I just don’t know what to do.please help.
Thanks for your question. Verizon and Sprint have built their network using CDMA technology. Straight Talk SIM works only with GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile.
The iPhone 4S shipped as a single model that supports both CDMA & GSM; therefore an iPhone 4S from any carrier could work on Straight Talk if it is unlocked (unless it was from AT&T or T-Mobile, in which case it wouldn’t need to be unlocked).
I have a at&t samsung a877, was wondering if the straight talk sim will work with it. I’m not sure if the phone is locked or unlocked. WalMart has a straight talk sim for at&t phone

Will the Sony Xperia ion LTE or the Sony Xperia s from AT&T (locked) work with Straight talk? Thanks.
Thanks for your question. The Sony Experia S from AT&T will absolutely work on Straight Talk, with no unlocking required. Looks like the Sony Xperia Ion LTE will also work, though it may need to be unlocked unless it already is OR the carrier it was bought from is AT&T or T-Mobile.

Hi
I was wondering…I called straight talk. My husband has an iphone 4s with sprint and they said they could  Port his number to straight talk and still use his iphone 4s? I just want to make sure before we continue. Thank you!
What they told you is true if your iPhone is unlocked. If it is not unlocked it will not work on Straight Talk. Here’s the procedure I would follow if you want to port your number.
1) Get your iPhone unlocked (ask Sprint to do this first, if they refuse go to a 3rd party)
2) Purchase the appropriate SIM card for your Apple iPhone 4S by following the links above. Request that Straight Talk port your number.
3) Once the number is ported to Straight Talk, your Sprint service should be cancelled and you should be able to power up on the Straight Talk network with your new SIM card.
4) Enjoy all the money you are saving and the better service!
i have a droid pro which has a sim card in the back it runs off verizon but is cdma/gsm can i hook it up to straight talk by ordering a sims card from them? and if so do i have to unlock it and how would i go about doing so? because ive heard that verizon does not want to unlock peoples phones and ive heard that 3rd party sites do not always give u a valid unlock code.
Steve, The word is that the Droid phones that are both GSM/CDMA will work with Straight Talk SIM if they are unlocked. You’ll have to find a way to get it unlocked first. Try asking Verizon as a first step, they may jump for it if your contract is over, if not try to find some unlock steps on-line or send it away for unlocking. Then you should be able to make it work. It might require a little tinkering. If you’re not up for that, sell it on eBay and then get a phone that will undoubtedly work well with Straight Talk.
Htc 1 x. Iam under contract with at&t does Mty htc1 x have to be Active in order to make the switch

Keep your Verizon service active, then request a number port from Straight Talk when you buy your phone and/or SIM.
Since you have a iPhone 4, I’m assuming its the Verizon model and therefore you’ll have to sell it and get a new phone. Check out our article on the iPhone and Straight Talk to understand which models work and which don’t.
I believe you can keep any apps you paid for, as those are through Apple and not through any specific carrier.
I was wondering if an unlocked HTC ONE V T320E is compatible with straight talk?
Yes
I’m a long time Verizon customer considering the switch to ST. I understand the unlocked compatability gsm thing but am concerned with what phones use what towers. On the box of a new phone it says cdma-v or gsm-a or s, but buying an ebay phone there’s no way to know. Do you have a link to a list of carriers for individual ST phones? Thanks!
Tom, I don’t have a list. You can google the model number of any phone on eBay and look at the specs to see if it is a CDMA or GSM phone.
You’ll want a GSM phone for Straight Talk.
Or, just purchase a phone directly from Straight Talk!
will an att samsung galaxy 2 skyrocket that has a bill owed on it work if I unlock it?

I have a at&t Samsung captivate glide that was on contract. I moved and they wouldn’t honor my data usage in the new location. I broke my contract and quit paying. Can I use it on straight talk without unlocking it (being as I broke contract) or will they have it locked where I can’t use it?
You can use it on Straight Talk without unlocking it. Use the links above to purchase a SIM and you’ll be all set!

My Touch 4G will not work with Straight Talk AT&T compatible sim card. You will only be able to get 2G no 2G or 4G. So don’t even bother.
Thanks for the info! Know that the most reliable way to use 4G on Straight Talk is to use the T-Mobile SIM Card with a phone that is with T-Mobile (or unlocked) that supports the T-Mobile 4G bands (1700/1900 Mhz)
Hi I have an LG Quantum C900 I’ve unlocked the phone and activated the Straight Talk service. I can make phone calls and texts, however, I can not access the mobile network.
